If you loved The Dark Knight, and for some reason missed the original IMAX release, you really have to get out and see the re-release.
The full-frame sequences are jaw-droppingly gorgeous. And not jaw-dropping in the cliche figurative sense. No, they are literally jaw-dropping, your mouth agape in astonishment and disbelief at the all-encompassing celluloid beauty before you.
There are only a few minor points that may detract from an otherwise landmark theatrical experience:
1. You need to sit as far away from the 7 story screen as possible. I mean all the way in the back. If you suffer from neckcramps or vertigo, you might want to bring a lawn chair and just camp out near the doors.
2. My one serious gripe with the movie itself is its poorly shot and staged fight scenes, which many of us felt were shot too close up to begin with. They suffer even more when blown up to Star Destroyer size
3. It wouldn’t be the best way to see the film for the first time. The switching back and forth between regular film and IMAX involves a serious change in aspect ratio and visual quality. It is more than a little distracting. And once you see the IMAX sequences, the regularly shot scenes (which include some of the best moments in the film) just don’t have the same impact.
I finally got around to watching There Will Be Blood. It took a whole year to get up the courage.
Some important notes:
- It’s all about oil and god. those are my absolute least favorite three letter words.
- The film’s original title was Two Assholes from Texas. The setting was changed to California when representatives from the Bush administration objected.
- In Europe it’s called “voir, c’est pourquoi l’Amérique est foutu” which means “see, this is where america went wrong.”
- Afraid the film would be confused for a vampire western, Russian distributors changed the title to Oil.
- The film is Russia leader Vladimir Putin’s all-time favorite. He invited Daniel-Day Lews to dinner at his private home. There are rumors Putin is interested in producing an autobiographical film with Lewis in title role
- Lewis’s There Will Be Blood performance won the Oscar in 2008. He had spent more than a year preparing for the role.
- The actor originally playing Eli Sunday left the production shortly after filming began, reportedly “intimidated” by Lewis. Lewis spent every moment of the eight-month shoot in-character. Guess that must have been a pleasent working environment.
- The film’s final scene was improvised. Except for the oft-quoted line: “I drink your milkshake.” That part actually happened.
Starting to enjoy these now. At least they’re quick to respond, and don’t begin the conversation with “How’s your credit?”
Thanks for your email. The apartment is still available. I decided to rent the apartment because we are going to spend more time here in West Africa, about 3 years.. Let me start by introducing myself.I must confess that I am very very new in this landlord business.. However, My name is Pula Keshem Johnson . I own the apartment located at 90 West Broadway, New York NY 10007. Due to my job as a missionary I spent less time in the States so I could not get a hold on any Realtor to handle this rent issue, although it was when I knew how long we are going to stay in Africa that I decided to rent out the apartment.. However, the initial plan was to sale out the apt. which I tried, but sometimes the agents inflates the prize and it takes longer to sell. because of this reason and more we need a responsible person (With good credit) that can take very good care of it as we are not after the money , but want it to be clean and for you to take it as if it were yours.
As you know that the the rent is reasonable, One Mr. Jeremy sent an email about the apartment and I told him that I cant give him the apartment because he is married with 4 kids ,I do not want his children to get my property damaged because of our future plans on the apartment.
This one too
Hello,
Thank you for your interest. My name is Courtney Houser and from the craigs.org add, you could see, that the apartment located in:180 Montague St. ,Brooklyn / NY 11201. It has 2 bedrooms, 1 bathrooms, 1 kitchen and 1 living room (1046 sq. ft).
I am looking for someone to live in it, as soon as possible, because my company has won the auction for a project, in construction, for a building that will rise up in Liverpool, United Kingdom. I am a civil engineer, so my accommodation period in UK will be about 4 years. The renting period is from 1 months upto 1-8 years. As a result of this I want to rent, for this period, at this price and also to find the perfect person for my apartment. I`m the owner of the apt and it’s like in the pics.
The apartment is furnished, but I have the option of sending all my furniture into storage if you want to bring your own (no extra costs). The rent for 1 month is 900 US$ (for the whole apartment) including all utilities (water, electricity, Internet, cable, parking, air conditioning, dishwasher, garbage disposal, microwave, refrigerator). You can move in the apt in the same day when you receive the keys. The only problem is that I`m the only person who has the keys but I hope that we will find a solution.
Thank you for your interest and I will look forward to hearing from you soon.
Good luck,
Courtney Houser
P.S. Please tell me if this is what are you looking for and reply my only if you are truly interested in the apt.
Thanks for your response. My name is Sarah Klima and I wish to inform you that the apartment at 211 Madison Ave, New York NY 10016 (1095 ft²), Cross st: (East 36th st.) Neighborhood: Murray Hill) is still available and belongs to my husband and I. We apologize for the slight delay in responding to your enquiry. We just received some news from our representative (Robert Wilkins Tel: 773 467 7459) who is presently in Chicago had a little accident so we are handling the leasing ourselves.so i googled that phone number and it came up with dozens of people complaining about being asked to wire money overseas….
However, we are very busy people and we will not like to take much of your time, therefore I will go straight to breaking down the terms and conditions that apply to the apartment.
My husband and myself have our preferences in given out the apartment. This means we could be a bit choosy but we apologise in advance if it seems to be rather harsh. The apartment is furnished, but most of the furnitures has been moved into storage as you can see from the pictures. The furnitures could be replaced if you like. We are looking out for a responsible person, preferably single. In the case of married couple, they will accept full responsibility for property damages during their stay. Pets are allowed and we may be given out the apartment at a very low and reasonable price but we are given it out for a minimum period of at least 3 months starting December/January or preferably a longer lease period to as much as 5 years lease. Since we cleared the apartment for renovation on August, we have not been in New York due to business. Myself, my husband and my children have relocated to England, so we will be given out the apartment for a long duration at $890 /month rate (All Utilities included). Our priority is taking a responsible, careful, understanding and reasonable tenant that will take good care of the property, since we will be away for most of the period.
The rental agreement will contain issues like;
rental payments
duration of lease
parking
subletting
damage to premises
painting
pets
payment of utilities
lockouts
right of inspection
deposit refunds
terminating the lease
We do not have time for games so we suggest that if you are not serious about the apartment, you try somewhere else. My time is very valuable and my husband is a very busy person but he will like to still speak with you over the telephone before any arrangement for you to inspect the apartment because we cannot just give attention to everyone that is interested in the apartment. My husband’s full names are Anthony Klima, Telephone :+44 7024062089. Call only if you are serious about taken the apartment and let us know how long you will like to have the apartment to help us make our decision. If satisfied, we can discuss on how to get the document and the keys of the house to you to inspect. In your response, tell us a little more about yourself like your names, current address, your present occupation, marital status, if you like pets and why you want to take the apartment?
As soon as we hear from you, we will contact you with more details.
Thanks,
Sarah

No, it’s not from the The Onion. The article also mentions a feature adaptation of “Ouija Board,” and the maritime classic “Battleship” is also in development.
Stranger than fiction.. Maybe next, Roman Polanski’s “Uno.” and Robert Zemeckis brings us a 200 million dollar Motion Capture / CGI version of “Chess”
